Paul Gordon Love was a U.S. Army Veteran who had served during World War II and went missing from Galesburg, Illinois on October 2, 1947. Following his release from the Army during World War II, Paul Gordon Love became a student at the University of Illinois branch campus in Galesburg, Illinois. On October 2, 1947, Paul Love was last seen downtown where he had tried to cash a check at a music store to buy a record. The store told him he was not able to cash the check and Paul Love told them he would see them later and left the store.
With the help of more than 2,500 Boy Scouts, hundreds of law enforcement officers, highway maintenance workers and railroad employees, the largest search effort in Galesburg, Illinois history took place in search of Paul Gordon Love. The search yeilded negative results and Paul Gordon Love has not been seen or heard from since he was in that music store in October of 1947.
Paul Gordon Love was 22 years old at the time he went missing in 1947. Paul Love is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighed approximately 140 pounds at the time he went missing.
