Gloria Baird is a U.S. Army Soldier who went missing after last being seen at a party in Atlanta, Georgia on December 31, 1969. It has been stated that Gloria left that party with three men. Gloria Baird had joined the Army a few months prior, and was subsequently listed as AWOL. Gloria Baird was on an approved leave from the Army at the time of her disappearance. Gloria had been stationed at Ft. Benjamin Harrison in Indiana (now closed) and Ft. McClellan in Alabama. Her abandoned Volkswagen Beetle was found on the side of a road in Georgia, though no one saw her walking. When she disappeared, she left behind a two-year-old daughter.
Gloria Baird had got married in February of 1969 to Johnny Clyde Goodman and the marriage lasted about one week. Coincidentally, Gloria Baird and her former husband, Johnny Clyde Goodman were both listed as AWOL in Dember of 1969. Her former husband has an extensive criminal history including bigamy and he was married to another woman when he married Gloria Baird. Johnny Clyde Goodman died in February of 2000.
