Herlinda Ann Soto

herlinda_soto_01Herlinda Ann Soto is a U.S. Army Reservist and Veteran of Desert Storm who was last seen at her home in El Paso, Texas on July 2, 1993.  Herlinda Soto and her husband, Ulises Soto, were in the middle of a contentious divorce and custody fight and he had visited the home earlier in the morning of July 2, 1993 to pick up their two young children for a weekend visit.  Right before Herlinda went missing, she had won custody of their children and her husband had the children every other weekend. A friend had spoke with Herlinda Soto at around 11:00 PM on July 2, 1993 and that was the last time anyone had heard from Herlinda Soto.

Her husband, Ulises returned to her home to drop off the two children on July 5, 1993 around 6:00 PM.  Ulises called police from a neighbor’s house after seeing blood in the garage.  Her home showed an obvious sign of a struggle and police stated that this was “the bloodiest crime scene they had seen in years”.  Not only was Herlinda Soto missing, but so was her 1989 Mercury Tracer.  The Mercury Tracer found later on July 5, 1993 in an undeveloped area at the edge of a desert about four miles away from Herlinda’s home.  There was blood in the trunk of the car which was determined to be her blood, which led investigators to believe that Herlinda’s body may have been in the trunk at one time, but there was no sign of Herlinda and she has not been seen since.

Herlinda’s husband, Ulises, was questioned and his alibis checked out and he was not considered a suspect in her disappearance.  Ulises lived about five miles from Herlinda’s home.

Herlinda Ann Soto was 43 years old at the time of her disappearance.  Herlinda Soto is 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighed approximately 120 to 152 pounds at the time she went missing. Herlinda Soto has brown hair and brown eyes.
