Benjamin R Sjoberg

benjamin_j_sjoberg_02Benjamin R Sjoberg was serving in the U.S. Navy when he disappeared from the U.S.S. Harper’s Ferry (LSD-49) as it passed between the Hawaiian Islands of Kauai and Niihau at approximately 11:00 PM on October 18, 1996.  At one point, the U.S.S. Harper’s Ferry came as close as 2000 yards from shore. Benjamin R Sjoberg is a hull technician third class.  Benjamin R Sjoberg has since been declared “Lost At Sea” and his grave marker lists the dates August 24, 1973 to October 19, 1996.

Benjamin R Sjoberg was 23 years old when he went missing in 1996.  Benjamin R Sjoberg is 6 feet 3 inches to 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighed approximately 200 to 210 pounds at the time he went missing.  Benjamin R Sjoberg has reddish blonde hair and blue eyes.

Update April 19, 2015:  According to an NCIS Bulletin (Linked above) dated March 22, 2013, Benjamin R Sjoberg is not declared “Lost at Sea” according to NCIS and is instead listed as “Missing”.
