Marc William Oestrike is a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran who was last seen in Fort Myers, Florida by his parents on July 4, 2002. Marc William Oestrike joined the Marine Corps at age 18, but about two years into his enlistment he went absent without leave (AWOL). Marc Oestrike was arrested by law enforcement in Fort Myers, Florida and jailed for being AWOL. Shortly after being released from jail, Marc Oestrike’s parents noticed that $17,000 was missing from a safe in their home. His parents had been saving the money and had plans to buy land for Marc and his brother for Christmas.
When Marc Oestrike was last seen by his parents, he was accompanied by two men known only to the parents as Jose and Clift. An investigator hired by the parents of Marc Oestrike learned that Marc had travelled to Brownsville, Texas and was seen at A.K.’s Sports Bar and Grill in July of 2002. A check of Marc Oestrike’s cell phone records show that frequent calls had been made to Halingen, Texas and McAllen, Texas, but it could not be determined who exactly made the calls.
Marc Oestrike has a history of drug abuse and this may have played a part in his disappearance.
Marc Oestrike was 21 years old when he went missing in 2002. Marc Oestrike is 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighed approximately 148 pounds at the time he went missing. Marc has brown to blonde hair and brown eyes. He also has a scar on his chest, a scar on his left cheek and a long scar by his eye about the size of a baseball. Marc has a tattoo of a green and red fighting dragon on his right shoulder and a tattoo of the name “Angela” on his chest cover his heart. He also has an unspecified tattoo on his back. Marc was in an auto accident on Memorial Day, 2002 and broke several vertebrae along with sustaining severe facial lacerations. He was required to wear a back brace and a sling until he fully healed, but chose to discard the brace and the sling prematurely.
