Bob Harrod

bob_harrod_01Bob Harrod (Robert Merle Harrod) is a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran who went missing from his home in Placentia, California on July 27, 2009.  After being apart 59 years, Bob Harrod, a millionaire in California, had finally been reunited with his long lost love, Fontelle.  When Bob and Fontelle were young and first met in Missouri, they fell in love instantly.  Bob gave Fontelle an engagement ring and they planned to get married, but Bob Harrod was sent to Camp Pendleton, California for Marine Corps Training to fight in the Korean War.  Bob and Fontelle eventually lost touch.  Bob marries a different woman after he returns from the war and they are married for 56 years until his wife passes away.  After the death of his wife, Bob, distraught and feeling alone, asks a family member to look for Fontelle on the internet.  Bob’s search for Fontelle is not successful, but little does he know that Fontelle is about to also turn to the internet and search for Bob.  Fontelle has more luck and a family member is able to reconnect the two long lost loves via phone around May of 2009.

Bob was a millionaire and his family knew it. Bob’s family knew he had a large amount of money in a family trust and as Bob got older, many of his family members constantly bothered him with questions and concerns about the family trust.  Bob confided in a friend that he was being bothered so much that he had to pay some family members to leave him alone for six months.  As Bob grew older, he started to give money away to people such as a hair dresser and a family that he and his wife had known for years.  Bob’s housekeeper was also supposedly offered money, but she refused and told some of his family that she was worried for Bob and informed them of how he tried to give her money.

By June 23, 2009, Bob and Fontelle had met in person after she flew from Missouri to California.  Bob did not want to lose Fontelle again and made good on his engagement promise by marrying her in an Orange County California Government Office on June 29, 2009.  Bob and Fontelle did not tell any of their families that they were getting married that day.  When Bob did tell his family about the marriage to Fontelle, the reactions where mixed.  One family member was happy, the other said they “warned him” and yet another contacted an attorney about Bob Harrod’s will and trust. The two would come to spend a lot of time together before Fontelle had to return to Kansas City, Missouri to pack up her belongings so she can move out to California.

On July 27, 2009, Bob’s son in law is helping Bob take care of some maintainance issues around Bob’s home supposedly in preparation for Fontelle’s return to California.  Bob, leagally blind at this time with bad knees would disappear on that day, July 27, 2009.  His knees did not allow him to walk far, but his car was left behind.  Bob’s car keys and wallet are gone.  Bob was reported missing about 9 PM on July 27, 2009 by his wife, Fontelle Harrod who had received a call about his going missing while she was in Missouri packing her belongings.  Mrs. Harrod says she was informed that Bob had gone missing around 11 AM by one of Bob’s daughters.

Bob Harrod was 81 years old when he went missing in 2009.  Bob is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighed approximately 160 to 170 pounds at the time he went missing.  Bob has gray hair or partially gray hair and is bald on the top of his head with short hair around the sides.  Bob has blue eyes which some may refer to as blue/gray.  bob Harrod was last seen wearing white shorts, white knee socks, white belt, white hat and a v-neck undershirt with an unknown design outer shirt.  Bob was also wearing Reebok brand tennis shoes, a gold wedding band on his left hand and possibly a masonic ring with a red stone behind the masonic symbol on his right hand.  Bob also required glasses since he was legally blind.
