Updated October 5, 2011: The search for Corey Michael Lang has ended. According to an obituary for Corey Michael Lang, “Corey Michael Lang, 32, of Hinsdale died unexpectedly April 3, 2011, in Erving, Mass., after a long, courageous battle with mental illness.”. [Link].
Corey Michael Lang is a U.S. Army Veteran who was last seen on April 3, 2011 when he drove to the French King Bridge in Erving, Massachusetts and shot himself, his body falling into the fast moving water below. Corey Michael Lang served in the U.S. Army from 1998 to 2000, spending time deployed as an Army Mechanic to locations such as Bosnia and Kuwait. Following his time in the Army, Corey Michael Lang started to suffer from the mental illness, paranoid schizophrenia, and was hospitalized twice for treatment at the New Hampshire State Hospital. He first spent seven weeks at the hospital and the second time he spent six months receiving treatment for his mental illness. Approximately seven weeks following his latest discharge from the New Hampshire State Hospital, he shot himself on the bridge and his body has never been recovered. Numerous searches have been conducted in an attempt to recovery the body of Corey Michael Lang with no success.
Corey Michael Lang was 32 years old when he went missing in 2011. Corey Michael Lang is 5 feet 8 inches tall to 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighed approximately 170 to 180 pounds. Corey Michael Lang has dark brown hair and brown eyes. At the time he went missing, his hair was shaved really short. Corey Michael Lang has a tattoo on his arm with the word “Forbearance” in it and a second unknown tattoo on the opposite arm.
