Maurice James II is a former U.S. Army Sergeant who went missing from the San Francisco, California area on July 31, 2011. According to news reports, Maurice James “came out” to his sister as a gay man when he was 16 years old. Just prior to 9/11, Maurice joined the U.S. Army where he served for seven years during the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” era of the U.S. Military. Maurice served in Europe and was deployed to Iraq before being discharged in 2008. After his discharge, Maurice moved to San Francisco.
James disappeared on July 31, 2011 and some of his personal belongings were later found on a beach in the City of San Francisco. According to news reports, Maurice was close with his sister (whom he told he was gay) and she mentioned “her concern for his welfare both within his family and in the outside world was palpable.”.
Maurice James II was last seen by his roommate before going to bed. Some of his personal belongings were left at home, others were later found on the beach.
Maurice James II was 29 years old at the time he disappeared in 2011. Maurice is 6 feet tall and weighs 155 pounds. His nickname is “Mo”. Maurice has brown hair and hazel eyes and an unknown tattoo on one of his arms.
