Joseph McHenry is a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran who left on a camping and rock climbing trip to Mori Point in Pacifica, California in March of 2012 and never returned. Joseph McHenry was last seen at his home on March 2, 2012 at the 100 block of Quail Point Circle before he drove out to head on his hike into the wilderness to camp and rock climb. It was not unlike Joseph to camp alone. A foot and part of a leg were later found washed ashore and DNA tests showed that the body parts did indeed belong to Joseph, but since you can survive without these body parts, the coroner will not pronounce Joseph deceased and he may still be out there.
An exhaustive search was conducted by air, sea and ground in the days following his disappearance to no avail. A backpack believed to be Joseph’s was found on a secluded beach near Mori Point in Pacifica, California. His car was also found where he apparantly parked it prior to starting his hike. The search has since been called off by the San Bruno Police Department, but 20 plus Marines from around the country volunteered their time and paid their own travel expenses to join in a search for their fellow Marine.
Joseph McHenry is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighed 170 pounds at the time he disappeared in 2012. Joseph has brown eyes and black hair and a USMC tattoo on his chest. The clothing he was wearing at the time he went missing is unknown.
Joseph’s family has since gone to court seeking a death certificate for their son.
