John Darwin Chesley is a Korean War Veteran who was 81 years old when he went missing after wandering from his home in Oroville, California at about 1 PM on February 22, 2o14. According to the Butte County Sheriffs Office, John Chesley suffers from dementia and is hard of hearing, both of which are medical conditions that may make him easily disoriented. Hoping that John Chesley had sought refuge in a structure in the vicinity of his home’s property, the Butte County Sheriffs Office initiated a reverse-911 call to all homes in a five-mile radius of John’s home on Peak View Drive. The residents were asked to check their property, outbuildings, sheds, well houses, barns, boats, automobiles, RV’s, trailers, abandoned buildings, crawl spaces and other areas on their property including creeks, drainages and orchards…any place a person could seek shelter. John has not been seen or heard from since February 22, 2014.
John Chesley is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighed 135 to 140 pounds at the time he went missing in 2014. John has gray/silver hair and green eyes and has a large flat mole on his back. John was last seen wearing a turquoise and blue flannel shirt with a white tank top, jeans, tennis shoes and a wedding band.
