“My grandfather’s 6’7” [tall]. He’s a big, big gentleman,” Keller said. “[His stepson] pulled him back out of water and said ‘you need to hold on to the tree, dad.’ He said ‘I can’t hold on anymore, the water’s just too heavy, it’s taking me down.'” Keller said the stepson told Reissig to hold on until they get help but Reissig said, “You need to let me go.” “And he did,” Keller said. “He let him go.”

During Memorial Day Weekend 2015, the Blanco River reached record levels late Saturday the 23rd of May into the morning of Sunday, the 24th of May.  This record level caused major flooding in the Hays County, Texas area and at least 11 people went missing, some of whom have been recovered.

Kenneth Reissig is 81 years old as of the time he went missing in May, 2015 (DOB 03/14/1934).  Kenneth has white hair and blue eyes and stands 6 feet 7 inches tall.
