Updated October 8, 2015: The search for Leonard Nix has ended. According to news reports, the body of Mr. Nix has been located. Rest In Peace Sir.
Leonard Nix is a U.S. Navy Veteran who went missing after leaving his Vilonia, Arkansas home at around 3 pm on August 2, 2015 to go on his monthly camping trip to Brock Creek. Brock Creek is located just outside of Jerusalem, Arkansas. (see map below) Leonard Nix was reported missing by his wife on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 11:49 am. Leonard’s truck was located just off I-40 in Menifee, Arkansas at a construction lot (See image below). Menifee is approximately 22 miles away from Vilonia. Leonard Nix was driving a black 2004 Toyota Tacoma with a homemade wooden flatbed and Arkansas License Plates 080SFA. His blue 1998 Yamaha 4-wheeler and camping supplies would have been loaded on the truck. The 4-wheeler (see photos below) is still missing and police believe that Leonard Nix may have left on his 4-wheeler.
Marty Nix, Leonard’s son, has stated that his father was diagnosed with para schizophrenia and needs his medications or he becomes disoriented. A Silver Alert has been issued by the Arkansas State Police.
Leonard Nix is 67 years old as of the date he went missing in August 2015. Leonard is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs approximately 17 pounds. He has short brown hair and blue eyes. Leonard Nix was last seen wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans.
