Robert John Wood is a 77 year old Vietnam Veteran who was last seen on Monday, March 9, 2015 travelling south on U.S. Highway 301 in Bakers County, Florida. Robert John Wood suffers from dementia and he is scheduled for some kind of surgery either this week or in the near future. Sheriff John Carter says that they think that Robert Wood may be trying to get to the Veterans Administration Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.
Robert John Wood was listed as missing in Wayne County, Jessup, Georgia. Robert Wood was brought to Baker County Florida about two months ago by family for a meeting regarding assisted living arrangements.
From the Baker County Florida Sheriffs Office: Robert Wood was listed as missing on March 10, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Robert Wood has a diminished mental capacity. Law Enforcement Agencies had contact with Robert Wood two times on March 9, 2015 prior to him being reported as missing. Florida Highway Patrol had contact with Robert Wood at approximately 2:30 AM on March 9. During this contact, Robert made a statement to the Highway Trooper that he was attempting to go to the VA Hospital in Baker County, Florida. Baker County Sheriffs Office had contact with Robert Wood at approximately 4:00 PM on March 9 in the area of 23C and 321 North.
Robert Wood is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs approximately 145 pounds. Robert Wood has blue eyes. Robert Wood was last seen wearing a long sleeve blue checkered shirt and blue jeans, rain boots and carrying a pink blanket.
