Thomas Mark Stieg

Updated November 25, 2015: The search for Mr. Thomas Stieg has ended. Grant County Sheriff’s Office has reported that the body of Mr. Stieg was found at N 46* 50′ 51.1584″, W -119* 45′ 19.4937″, about 2.5 linear miles from where his truck was found.   According to law enforcement, there is no indication of foul play and all signs as of right now lead to Mr Stieg having suffered a fall which led to his passing. Rest in Peace Mr Stieg.

SEARCH_ENDEDThomas Mark Stieg is a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran who went missing in the Royal City, Washington area on Friday November 20, 2015.  Thomas Stieg was on a one day archery hunting trip near Crab Creek in the Royal City area when he failed to return from the hunting trip to his North Bend home on Friday night. Thomas Stieg’s last known location is in the bluffs above Crab Creek which is located about two miles south of State Route 26.  Thomas Stieg had left his home at about 3:00 a.m. for the hunting trip and drove his black 2013 Ford F-150 with license plate number B58677Y to the hunting site. Thomas Stieg’s family contacted law enforcement on Saturday, November 21, 2015 to report him missing.  Thomas Stieg’s family specified an area where they thought he may be found and his vehicle was located around 3:00 p.m. on Saturday November 21, 2015.

Hunters in the area are being asked to keep an eye out for Thomas Stieg.  The search for Thomas Stieg which started on Saturday 21 November, 2015 included searchers on foot, Off Road Vehicle, and horseback.  Those involved in the search included Grant County Sheriffs Office, Grant County Search and Rescue, representatives from other area law enforcement agencies, volunteer fire fighters, Department of Fish and Wildlife, and civilian volunteers on horseback and Off Road Vehicles.

Thomas Stieg is 55 years old as of the date he went missing in November 2015.  Thomas Stieg is 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds.  Thomas Stieg was last known to be wearing camouflage clothing and would have had his archery equipment with him.  According to his family, Thomas Stieg is an experienced mountaineer and survivalist along with being a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran.
