Updated August 26, 2016: The search for Eddie “Smitty” Smith has ended. Mr. Smith has been located safe. The following message is from Mr. Smith’s family: “He has been found!!! SEARCH_ENDEDEddie “Smitty” Smith is a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran who went missing in early March 2016 from the Los Angeles Rampart, California area. Eddie Smith was booked into LAPD Rampart on March 3, 2016 for one night, being released on March 4, 2016.  This was the last time anyone has seen Eddie Smith.  Eddie Smith has been previously diagnosed with mental illness and a missing person report has been filed with the Honolulu, Hawaii Police Department by a family member on July 18, 2016.  Family last heard from Eddie Smith via phone in April 2014.

Eddie Smith has some siblings residing in the Memphis, Tennessee area who are aware that he is missing, but they have not heard from him.

Eddie “Smitty” Smith is 67 years old as of the date he went missing in April 2016.  Eddie Smith is described as an African American male standing 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds. Eddie Smith has brown hair and brown eyes.  Eddie Smith only has his wisdom teeth remaining and may not have dentures or glasses.  Eddie Smith  does walk with a slight limp.  Eddie Smith has a tattoo of the word “Zellie” on his left arm.
