James Andrew Morrison is a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran who went missing after leaving his home in Bessemer, Alabama on the 3rd of January, 2016. James Morrison left his home at noon on Sunday, January 3, 2016 driving his black 2014 Kia Sedona with Alabama Disabled/Handicap license plate 4C9F4. Last month, James Morrison was diagnosed with Dementia. James Morrison also has diabetes and high blood pressure and does not have his medication with him. Family tried to contact James Morrison via cell phone and his daughter reached him via cell phone at 4:30 p.m. at which she they learned that he had become disoriented and was Millbrook/ Montgomery, Alabama area. His daughter stayed on the phone with him until he reached Pelham, Alabama when the cell phone connection cut off. His daughter was able to reach him again and he told her that he had exited the interstate and told her that he was on the wrong road. His daughter urged him to go to a gas station or store so she would know where his exact location is. James Morrison stopped at the Citgo on County Rd 11 around 6:30 p.m. and was supposed to wait for family, but he did not. It was later learned that he knocked on a door in Chelsea, Alabama around 8:00 p.m., but the occupants did not answer because they were scared. James Morrison was seen shortly afterwards at the Shell Station on 280. James Morrison told the clerk that he as “running on fumes” and “trying to get to Bessemer, Alabama” and the clerk gave him $10.00 for gas. The last ping from his cell phone was off towers which showed his location as Morgan Road and South Shades Crest Road at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2016, which is less than seven miles from his home in Bessemer, Alabama. Calls to James Morrison would go to voicemail after 4 to 5 rings until approximately 3:00 a.m. on Monday, January 4, 2016. At 5:00 a.m. on January 4, 2016, calls to his cell phone went straight to voice mail.
James Andrew Morrison is 75 years old as of the date he went missing in January 2016. James Morrison is a white male who stands 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs approximately 185 to 200 pounds. James Morrison has brown hair, blue eyes and a two-inch scar in the middle of his forehead. James Morrison was last seen wearing a plaid shirt, jeans, a tan button-up jacket, black slip-on dress shoes, and a tan hat with the text “Jesus Loves Me” on the front.
