Updated August 03, 2016: The search for U.S. Navy Veteran Joseph “Clyde” Capasso has ended. Law enforcement has announced that Mr Capasso was located unharmed and in good condition by members of law enforcement at 2:10 a.m. on August 3, 2016.
Joseph “Clyde” Capasso is a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran who went missing in the afternoon of August 2, 2016 after leaving his home on James Street in Hamburg, New York. Joseph Capasso left his home around 1:00 p.m. in his tan 2010 Buick Lacrosse with New York License Plate FHB3898. He was heading to Blasdell, New York to get a haircut and has not returned. According to the Town of Hamburg Police, Joseph Capasso suffers from dementia and is known to frequent the Hamburg Town Park, Peg’s Place Restaurant and Denny’s at Rt. 20 and Camp. A Silver Alert has been issued by the Hamburg Police Department.
Joseph “Clyde” Capasso is 90 years old as of the date he went missing in August 2016. Joseph Capasso is described as a white male standing 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing approximately 147 pounds. Joseph Capasso was last seen wearing a glasses, a brownish red polo shirt, black pants and a ball cap with the words “USS Fiske” on the front.
